Your Gallatin Orthodontist
Meet Dr. Mike Seelig DMD, MS ("Dr. Mike")
I’m Dr. Mike, and I am very excited to meet all of you. I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri.
After high school, I moved to Nashville to earn my undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University. I fell in love with Middle Tennessee as a Vanderbilt student and realized that I wanted to call it my forever home. Unfortunately, my professional training kept me away for almost a decade after graduation.
Why Orthodontics?
My love for orthodontics, like many orthodontists, started with my own experience as a patient. Before spending two years in braces, I was shy and afraid to speak at school. I had a large gap between my front teeth and spoke with a lisp.
I was afraid my friends and classmates would make fun of the way I talked if I participated in class. You won't even be able to find a picture of me in which I would smile and show my teeth before I had braces because I was so embarrassed!
When you meet me, you will be able to see the profound effect orthodontics had on my life and personality.
I am grateful to practice a profession that gives me the opportunity to help others SHINE.
Education & Experience
- Undergraduate Degree - Vanderbilt University, Nashville
- Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) - University of Louisville
- Orthodontic Training and Master’s Degree - University of Illinois, Chicago
I am grateful for the amazing dental education I received at the University of Louisville, but I am even more grateful to UofL because it is where I met the love of my life, your pediatric dentist, Dr. Lauren!
Lauren and I met on our first day of dental school, and by the end of our fourth year, we were engaged and planning a wedding.
Outside of the Office
Dr. Lauren and I have called Middle Tennessee our home for almost five years now. We have two beautiful children, a son named Lincoln and a daughter named Lennon, who are our greatest blessings.
Our lives revolve around our amazing kiddos, but in between diaper changes, we love keeping up with our favorite sports teams and trying new, usually kid-friendly, restaurants.
